Under the title “Tradition and Materiality Reflected” Museum Mater (Barcelona) will host an intercultural exhibition at the Galerie von Opel in St. Moritz from 5. October to 9 November 2025.
The exhibition explores and fosters shared traditional techniques, collective memory, and dialogue between Engadin and Catalonia across multiple artistic disciplines.
Twelve artists and poets will be presented to the public, exploring heritage, memory, and identity through art. Sculpture, painting, photography, poetry, drawing, engraving, installation, video, origami, and sgraffito come together in a multidimensional space for exchange.
Among the exhibiting and participating artists are Laura Bott, Lea Ladina Jaecklin, Not Vital, Luis Schmidlin, Mazina Schmidlin-Könz, and Clay Hernández from Engadin, as well as Alícia Casadesús, Antoni Clapés, Robert Llimós, Manel Rovira, Isidre Mateo, and Rosa Vives from Catalonia. Their works, conceived as homages to local identities, build a bridge between the Alps and the Mediterranean, two regions geographically distant but united through cultural traditions.
- Exhibition: Sunday 05 October – 09 November 2025
- Opening Hours: Thursday to Sunday, 15:00 – 19:00 h
About Mater (Casa Museo in Barcelona)
