Luis Schmidlin Switzerland, b. 1995

Galerie von Opel is delighted to present the work of Luis Schmidlin, in collaboration with  Museum Mater (Barcelona). The exhibition will be on view in our gallery from October 5 to November 9.

Luis is a visual artist originally from Scuol in the Engadin, now living and working between Zuoz, Zurich, and Sursee. Coming from a family of traditional sgraffito artists, he reinterprets this heritage through his own practice. Instead of engraving into plaster, Luis explores contrasts by using opaque ink on light paper, creating works that balance tradition and contemporary expression.
