Alícia Casadesús Spanien, b. 1968
Galerie von Opel is delighted to present the work of Alicia Casadesus, in collaboration with Museum Mater (Barcelona). The exhibition will be on view in our gallery from October 5 to November 9.
Alicia holds a degree in Visual and Plastic Arts from the School of Art and Design of Vic. Her multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, installation, scenography, drawing, net art, performance, and photography. Across all these formats, her work speaks of the gaze, of place, of silence and slowness, of the limits of language, and of a life lived in harmony with nature.
Her drawings have been presented in dialogue with the poetry of Antoni Clapés, creating a powerful atmosphere where image and word intertwine. Together, they explore the idea of place not as a political homeland, but as a personal, intimate space shaped by origins, experiences, and relationships. This “little homeland” is both physical and moral, a space of roots and memory that offers serenity and tranquility.
Casadesús’ art is thus an invitation to pause and contemplate: to find meaning in silence, to inhabit slowness, and to rediscover the delicate balance between human life and the natural world.
